University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) seeks an Instruction and Research Librarian (Instructor Rank) in Kraemer Family Library to provide information literacy instruction and research assistance across formats to the UCCS community. This 12-month faculty appointment involves teaching, librarianship, and leadership/service expectations.

The role includes liaison duties to Education-related divisions, development of online learning materials, and participation in program assessments.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library school completed by position start date is required.
• Experience or coursework in instruction or instructional design (instructional experience in public library or K-20 setting will be considered).
• Experience or coursework in providing reference or research assistance.
• Experience in an academic library in any position (student employee, staff, practicum, etc.) OR coursework in academic librarianship is preferred.
• Highly qualified applicants will have experience providing research support, information literacy instruction, or collection development in education or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Provide in person and/or online information literacy instruction in courses and library programs, including possible night/weekend classes.
• Provide general research assistance in-person and through remote formats.
• Develop and maintain online learning materials.
• Assist with assessment of library instruction and research assistance activities.
• Serve as a liaison to academic divisions or departments, providing collection development and research assistance.
• Contribute to policy development for the Learning, Research, and Engagement department and Kraemer Family Library.

Salary/Pay Range

$ 50,000 - $55,000 annually .Compensation will be commensurate upon experience andqualifications. This position is Exempt from the Fair LaborStandards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary

As a faculty member of the Learning, Research, and Engagement Department, the Instruction & Research Librarian provides information literacy instruction and research assistance in various formats to the UCCS community. The following job duties are expected but not all-inclusive. This position may explore additional interests in developing, delivering, and promoting library services or be asked to take on other duties as assigned. This is a 12-month faculty appointment that requires commitments in the areas of Teaching/Librarianship and Leadership and Service. Scholarly/Creative Work is not required.

Essential Functions

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Provide in person and/or online information literacyinstruction in the First-Year Rhetoric and Writing Program, Gateway Program Seminar, and library workshops. This may include night and weekend classes.
• Provide general research assistance service in-person andthrough remote formats.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of onlinelearning materials.
• Assist with assessment of library instruction and researchassistance activities.
• Serve as a liaison to academic divisions or departments inthe College of Education or other assigned area providingcollection development, library instruction, and researchassistance.
• Participate in the development of policies, procedures, andgoals for the Learning, Research, and Engagement department and theKraemer Family Library.
• Demonstrate a commitment to the academic or campus community through library, campus, CU System, or professional serviceactivities. The job duties
