Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Madison Libraries invites applications for Librarian II - Research, Learning and User Support. The Instruction Coordinator leads library instruction coordination for the Communication-A undergraduate requirement, designing, delivering, and assessing instruction to support student learning and research.

In collaboration with Science and Engineering Libraries and Undergraduate Library Services, you will develop instructional strategies, mentor Student Library

Responsibilities

• Obtains materials, resolves issues, and answers questions that are complex and highly specialized in nature (5%)
• Develops or coordinates specialized projects or programs (15%)
• Oversees day-to-day functions of one or more library operations or services (10%)
• Designs, develops, delivers, and assesses instruction in a variety of formats to faculty, staff, students, and other patrons (15%)
• Serves as a liaison to academic disciplines and/or other campus units providing information on collections, instructional and research support, and library services (10%)
• Actively participate in an inclusive, welcoming and respectful workplace (5%)
• Serves as a resource to other librarians and staff outside of their unit on a regular basis (10%)
• Develops, curates, and manages collections (0%)
• Initiates and solicits input to modify policies, procedures, and assessment tools to improve workflows and/or user experiences (5%)
• May direct the day-to-day activities of student workers (5%)
• Cultivates and maintains productive relationships with donors, collectors, vendors, and professional colleagues (5%)
• Provides specialized services utilizing a high level of expertise on a broad range of disciplines or in a designated discipline area (10%)
• Serves on committees to advance librarianship at the campus, local, and/or state and national levels (5%)
