Job summary

Laurel Ridge Community College (Laurel Ridge) is seeking an engaged, creative instructor for a full-time, 9-month faculty role in Biology: Anatomy and Physiology. The position primarily teaches anatomy and physiology, with responsibilities including curriculum development, advising, recruiting, and service on college committees.

Loads are 15 credits/semester with 10 engagement hours weekly, and teaching may be in-person, hybrid, or online.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in anatomy and physiology with 18 graduate credits in anatomy and physiology or related discipline.
• Demonstrate ability to work/teach in a lab setting.
• Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with Lab safety rules.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to develop courses in the field that will expand departmental offerings and that can be taught in traditional and non-traditional formats, such as hybrid and/or distance delivery courses.

Responsibilities

• Teach Anatomy and Physiology courses at Laurel Ridge Community College and assist with curriculum and program development.
• Collaborate with other instructors to ensure teaching uniformity and continuity of material and expectations.
• Manage typical loads of 15 credit hours per semester with 10 student engagement hours per week; advise, recruit, and serve on college committees.
