Job summary

Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) seeks an Institutional Giving Development Officer to drive philanthropic revenue through foundation, corporate, and government funders. You will cultivate a portfolio, draft compelling proposals, and coordinate across Finance, Content, and leadership to ensure strong grant stewardship.

You will partner with internal teams to align opportunities with priorities, manage grants from proposal through closeout, and develop budgets, reports, and renewal strategies for

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of five years of institutional fundraising experience, including grant proposal writing, grant management, budget development, and funder relationship management.
  • Demonstrated success securing significant grants from foundations, corporations, or government agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of funders and multiple complex deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for persuasive proposals, reports, and funder communications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of local and regional foundations, corporations, and government funders, developing strategies that grow institutional support and deepen relationships.
  • Research prospective funders, identify their interests, and connect those interests to organizational priorities and funding opportunities.
  • Prepare, write, and submit high quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, reports, and other funder communications.
  • Collaborate with Finance and program teams to develop, monitor, and track grant budgets and ensure compliance with funder requirements.
  • Coordinate impact reporting and stewardship to strengthen long-term funder relationships.
