Job summary

HouseSmart Construction – Installer II in Shelby, NC is a full-time role supporting the Crew Chief to set up manufactured homes safely and efficiently on site. You will perform various construction tasks and learn the skills needed to succeed in this growing division of Clayton Homes.

Opportunities include hands-on training, leveling and bolting floors and walls, installing vapor barriers, basic masonry, and assisting with electrical and plumbing crossovers. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• General construction experience.
• Comfortable with heights, outdoors, and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to learn and grow your career.
• Proficient with hand/power tools (hammer, levels, drills, impact wrench).

Responsibilities

• Support the Crew Chief and team with safely setting up the manufactured home.
• Own various construction tasks needed to set up the home.
• Install vapor barriers (training provided).
• Learn leveling and bolting floors and walls, anchoring walls, and other technical tasks.
• Perform basic masonry work.
• Assist with electrical and plumbing crossovers.
• Assist with bonding wires and repair bottom board.
• Help new team members develop and learn new skills safely.
• Partner with the Crew Chief to plan daily tasks.
