Job summary

A manufacturing company for emergency vehicles is seeking candidates for installations of vehicle interior and exterior parts. The successful candidate will focus on quality standards, meet production goals, and work independently with minimal supervision. Ideal candidates should be able to read engineering drawings and have familiarity with tools. This role aims for high safety standards and lean manufacturing practices.

Job Summary

Installation of various vehicle interior/exterior parts.

Responsibilities
  • Installation of all interior/exterior components and hardware
  • Set work priorities to meet production goals as schedules
  • Meet all QA and QC standards for each task
  • Function with a minimal amount of supervision
  • Close attention to detail
  • Meet standards of safety and 5S standards
  • Promote the use and applications of Lean Manufacturing continuous improvement tools as part of the culture
  • Be compliant with the rules of conduct and attendance policy
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
Requirements (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment)
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English
  • Must be able to prioritize work
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout and other written or verbal instructions presented in English
  • Ability to read and use a linear and other measuring devices
  • Familiar with various tools; drills, screw gun, table saw, band saw and router
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards
  • Ability to recognize quality expected and be able to reproduce it
Education and Experience
  • 0-1 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. Employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. Employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. Production Floor

The pay scale for newly hired employees in this position at this location in New York is <<17.54 - 22.13>>. This is based on meeting all of the requirements of the role.
