Job summary

Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM) is seeking a skilled installer/service professional to provide on-site support for electronics and custom home solutions in Omaha. You will install, troubleshoot, and service products while ensuring an exceptional customer experience and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating schedules, educating customers on features, maintaining documentation, and supporting showroom displays.

Qualifications

• 2 years customer contact experience required.
• 2 years wiring experience preferred.
• 1 year experience in electronics service or repair.
• CEDIA or other industry certifications preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of home theater, surveillance systems, phone and home network systems.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install electronics, audio/video, networking, control systems per specifications.
• Troubleshoot equipment and system issues, test functionality, and resolve problems.
• Coordinate installation schedules with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Educate customers on product features and operation.
• Maintain service documentation, manage parts inventory, and support warranty.
• Support showroom displays and team initiatives; maintain vehicles and tools.

Provide professional installation and service support for electronics and custom home solutions, ensuring a high-quality customer experience from start to finish. This role is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and servicing products while maintaining a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, product care, and safe work practices.

Job Duties: A Day in the Life

• Install: electronics, audio/video, networking, control, and related systems according to specifications, wiring diagrams, and installation standards
• Troubleshoot: equipment and system issues, test functionality, and provide effective solutions to ensure products perform as intended
• Coordinate: installation schedules with customers, contractors, and internal teams to complete projects accurately and on time
• Educate: customers on product features, operation, and system capabilities to enhance their overall experience
• Maintain: accurate service documentation, manage parts inventory, and support warranty and repair processes as needed
• Support: showroom displays, special projects, and team initiatives while helping maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment

Qualifications: Can You Check These Boxes?

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 2 years customer contact experience required.
• 2 years wiring experience preferred
• 1 year experience in electronics service or repair
• CEDIA or other industry recognized certifications preferred but not required
• Knowledge of home theater, surveillance system, phone and home network systems.
• Basic construction power tool and carpentry skills preferred
• Knowledge & skill in:
• Cable/wire types, applications
• Identifying audio devices and components, and their interconnections
• Construction/structural techniques/requirements/issues
• Device placement
• Proper cable installation, and dressing
• Ventilation and space requirements
• Proper equipment layout and mounting techniques
• Following directions accurately
• Using clear, concise communications
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Missouri residents must have Class E driver’s license
• Must meet and/or comply with applicable standards set forth in Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act.
• Lift test required: ability to lift, push, pull required weights per established requirements for the department.
• Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs.
• Pre-employment screening includes, but isn’t limited to, criminal background check
