Job Description

This role focuses on installing trash and linen chutes on commercial construction projects across Michigan and the broader Midwest. You will read and interpret blueprints, use a variety of tools, and complete installations to a high standard of safety and quality. The position involves frequent overnight travel and hands-on work in active construction environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install trash and linen chutes on commercial construction projects according to specifications and project requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings to plan and execute accurate installations.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to measure, cut, assemble, and secure materials.
  • Perform finish carpentry tasks as needed to complete and trim chute installations.
  • Inspect work areas and materials to ensure installations meet quality standards and align with project plans.
  • Coordinate with site teams and other trades to schedule and complete installation activities efficiently.
  • Travel within Michigan and throughout the Midwest for installation projects, including frequent overnight stays.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all site safety rules and procedures.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers, and customers to provide updates on progress and address any issues on site.

Essential Skills

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and site personnel.
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Proficiency in measuring accurately to ensure proper fit and alignment of materials.
  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight and out of state approximately 50-70% of the time.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
