Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions is seeking an Installation Technician to install, service, and upgrade a range of automated doors at customer sites. You will diagnose electro‑mechanical issues, work with aluminum frames and glazing, and ensure high safety and customer satisfaction.

The role requires 3–5 years in related fields, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain AAADM certification within six months.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in direct industry, storefront, glazing, doors, aluminum frames, electrical, glass, automatic doors, hardware, or related fields.
  • Minimum age requirement of 21 due to job-related responsibilities.
  • Ability to successfully obtain AAADM certification within six (6) months of employment and maintain certification as required.
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience repairing electro-mechanical devices.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical circuits and low-voltage (120V) wiring (access control systems a plus).
  • Experience in glazing, storefronts, aluminum frames, and hardware (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • High commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and teamwork.
  • Ability to lift, bend, and use power tools effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform service and installation in accordance with manufacturers’ recommended installation procedures and specifications.
  • Document time spent and complete proper documentation detailing any problems, shortages and inefficiencies in job-site conditions.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner for prevention of accidents to themselves, co-workers, contractors on‑site and the general public and property of all concerned.
  • Wear and maintain any/all personal protection equipment when necessary.
  • Perform planned maintenance, break‑fix repair, and upgrades of automated pedestrian doors at customer locations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues involving electro‑mechanical devices, electrical circuits, and relay logic.
  • Work with aluminum frames, glazing materials, hardware, and low‑voltage wiring.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, end‑users, and contractors, providing exceptional service at every interaction.
  • Participate in training programs.
  • Participate in on‑call rotations after certification and training.

Installation Technician

As an Installation Technician, you’ll play a critical role in delivering exceptional service and reliable door solutions to our customers. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade a variety of sliding, swinging, and rotating doors while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform service and installation in accordance with manufacturers’ recommended installation procedures and specifications.
  • Document time spent and complete proper documentation detailing any problems, shortages and inefficiencies in job-site conditions.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner for prevention of accidents to themselves, co-workers, contractors on‑site and the general public and property of all concerned.
  • Wear and maintain any/all personal protection equipment when necessary.

Safety

Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, positioning, and installing door components weighing up to 110 pounds (with lifting aids) on an occasional basis, climbing ladders, kneeling, driving and working in various positions as required.
