Job summary

ChampionX is seeking a Pumps Installation Technician in Fairmont, Minnesota. This role involves on-site support for chemical injection pumps, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of equipment. Position Details
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday 8 am – 4:30 pm
  • Potential overtime
  • Potential weekend work
  • Compensation: $22 – $30/hr, plus quarterly bonus program (depending on experience)
  • New hire training provided
Job Responsibilities
  • Perform on‑site customer support activities for chemical injection pumps and tanks.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair and set up pump equipment.
  • Perform on‑site preventive maintenance and routine repair after installation.
  • Perform moderately complex customer support activities, including installations, routine repairs and maintenance of chemical injection pumps and accessories.
  • Assemble different parts of manufactured products using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.
  • Inspect all materials, components, subassemblies, etc. to ensure they meet the accepted quality standards.
  • Read and follow work instructions, work orders, production drawings and sample assemblies, or verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Process and submit customer service transactions such as service tickets accurately.
  • Provide accurate and timely information regarding availability of in‑stock items.
  • Answer basic inquiries from customers providing basic technical product and application support.
  • Refer customers to local sales representative for further sales & service requests.
  • Make deliveries to customer locations.
  • Obtain signatures for deliveries made, as required.
Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Must be 21 years old or older to drive company car.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check and physical assessment.
  • Motor vehicle records must meet the standards for the company vehicle driving policy.
  • Must meet DOT physical requirements and training.
  • Must be able to travel to client site from shop – up to 90%.
  • Must have valid U.S. driver’s license.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with assembly, installation and/or repairs.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Immigration sponsorship not offered for this role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of industrial safety, proper hand and power tool use and other motorized material movement equipment.
  • Vocational / technical training or certifications.
  • Injection pumps experience.
Physical Demands
  • Role is deemed safety‑sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
  • Minimal crawling, climbing stairs, balancing, using a keyboard, and dialing less than 10%.
  • Occasional bending, crouching, kneeling, squatting, climbing ladders, lifting up to 40 lbs, reaching, twisting, stretching, pushing, pulling, standing, writing, and speaking between 11% - 33%.
  • Frequent handling (grasping, holding, turning, working with hands), fingering (picking, pinching, fine manipulation), sitting, walking, and driving company vehicle between 33% - 66%.
  • Per some customer requirements for locations, may be required to obtain certain vaccinations.
