Job summary

Zeus Fire and Security is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to install, configure, service, troubleshoot, and repair low-voltage systems including Fire Alarms, Access Control, CCTV, Nurse Calls, and Intercom systems. You will coordinate with the Project Manager and client on status, challenges, and completion dates.

This role requires climbing, lifting, and travel with a crew; on-call work may be required. A High School Diploma and 3-5 years in Fire Alarms are essential; NICET I preferred.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience with Fire Alarms.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • College coursework or related degree preferred.
  • NICET I certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of low voltage systems (Fire Alarms, Access Control, CCTV, Intercom).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, service, troubleshoot and repair Fire Alarms, Access Control, CCTV, Nurse Calls and Intercom systems.
  • Troubleshoot basic points and communicate status to project lead and client.
  • Assist with installation projects and ensure successful implementation.
  • Review design documents for accuracy before installation.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and complete detailed project reports.

Job description

Role Overview

A Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for installing, configuring, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing low voltage systems, including but not limited to Fire Alarms, Access Control Systems, CCTV, Nurse Calls, and Intercom systems. The Technician must be a role model to the organization with regards to integrity, commitment to results, inspiring teamwork and building on our strong culture of employee recognition while delivering legendary service to our customers, both internal and external.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program, start-up, troubleshoot and commission new system installation.
  • Performs basic point-to-point troubleshooting on Fire Alarms, Access Control Systems, CCTV, Nurse Calls and Intercom systems and other systems, as required.
  • Clearly communicate with project lead and client on project status, challenges, and completion dates.
  • Assist with installation projects, with direction for a successful installation.
  • Identify installation or system issues to project lead.
  • Review contract and design documents related to the project for accuracy prior to installation of system.
  • Perform inspections to ensure alarms are installed and working according to code.
  • Complete detailed project reports.
  • Respond to emergency service calls.
  • Maintains strong written and effective oral communication skills for both internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail to ensure successful resolution to customer requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Shift times may vary based on assignments made by the SPM or GM.
  • Can be required to work a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours and as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years experience with Fire Alarms
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • College graduates with a related degree or equivalent college coursework, preferred
  • Valid Driver's License
  • NICET I certification, preferred
  • Knowledge of low voltage systems, including but not limited to Fire Alarms, Access Control Systems, CCTV, and Intercom systems
  • Possess both technical and computer skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to use lifts for work that exceeds ladder limitations
  • Ability to regularly carry tools and multi-meter usage
  • Must be comfortable reporting to a Project Manager
Work Requirements
  • Position requires climbing ladders, frequent walking, stooping, crawling, pushing, balancing, lifting of more than 75 lbs. and operating heavy equipment
  • Works in confined areas, stockroom, closets, etc. above and below ground level
  • Ability to travel with a crew and ride a company provided vehicle
  • Regularly carry and climb an 8' or taller ladder
