Job summary

Kastle Systems is seeking an Installation & Service Technician in New York to install, test, and service CCTV, access control, and security systems at customer sites. You will interact with clients, subcontractors, and Kastle personnel to ensure on-time, quality installations.

The role requires 2+ years of experience in commercial access control and video systems, strong wiring skills, and knowledge of IP networking. On-site work with strong safety and quality focus is expected.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience installing commercial access control, video systems, low voltage, and wiring/cabling.
• Knowledge of building codes for construction and electrical systems.
• High School diploma or GED preferred; technical/electrical cert desirable.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and troubleshoot CCTV, access control, and security systems following procedures and quality standards.
• Pull cable, rough-in/patch-in, bend conduit, terminate wiring.
• Identify issues affecting timeline or progress and communicate with supervisor.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Kastle services, technology, and internal processes.

The Installation & Service Technician is responsible to install and assist in all phases of installing, testing and servicing/troubleshooting security, access control and video systems at customer sites. To that end, the Installation/Service Technician may interact directly with the client, client representatives, other contractors and Kastle personnel to ensure a successful installation project/service call. The Installation/Service Technician ensures that Kastle system installation/service orders are implemented accurately and on time, and that these services meet or exceed client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Installs, tests, and troubleshoots new CCTV, access control, and security systems accurately and on time following Kastle's procedures and quality control standards.

• Stays up to date and knowledgeable in Kastle services, technology and internal processes/procedures.

Qualifications

• 2 or more years’ experience installing:
  • commercial access control, video systems, low voltage, and commercial wiring/cabling
  • Door hardware, electric and mechanical locking devices
• Knowledge of building codes pertaining to construction and electrical systems
• High School diploma/GED preferred
• Technical/Trade/Vocational school certificate in electronics/electrical is desirable
• Strong electronics knowledge/background (AC/DC theory, series and parallel circuits, open/close loops) and ability and knowledge to use digital voltmeters
• Knowledge of IP, Ethernet, and networking protocols and Cat5 technologies preferred
