Position Description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Field Installation Technician to join our team. This role is critical in delivering high-quality installation services and support for our systems and equipment. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, experience with Point of Sale (POS) networking and hardware, and is comfortable working independently in the field. A high level of customer service and the ability to resolve issues effectively is essential. This role requires extensive travel, including weekends, as needed to meet project demands.

Position Location:

• Remote position, Upper Midwest Region preferred.
• Must be located within a reasonable distance of a major airport. 100% Travel Required.

• Follow established service processes and procedures to complete work on schedule and submit all required documentation accurately.
• Manage and account for assigned materials, tools, and capital assets.
• Collaborate with sales and systems engineering teams, under direction, to support sales initiatives and assist with new product rollouts.
• Actively participate in process improvement efforts to help drive team productivity and service quality.
• Partner with training and documentation teams to develop accurate installation guides and documentation.
• Train vendor personnel on installation procedures and standards through direct engagement.
• Use expert judgment to resolve technical, operational, or procedural issues with limited supervision.
• Develop and deliver complex solutions while communicating effectively with individuals at all levels inside and outside the organization.
• Must be willing and able to travel extensively, including weekends, as required.
• Ability to differentiate colors as part of troubleshooting and adherence to cabling standards.
• Physically able to climb ladders, maintain manual dexterity, and lift up to 85 pounds
  
  

Additional Skills

• Associate degree in a technical field or 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with a solid understanding of system-level hardware, local area networks, and software functionality.
• Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and basic network troubleshooting required.
• Prior experience with Point of Sale (POS) equipment is preferred.

• Travel to customer sites to perform Point of Sale (POS) equipment installations.
• Many installations occur overnight at existing locations, requiring the replacement of current POS systems.
• Must be flexible and able to adapt to frequent schedule changes based on customer needs, including last-minute adjustments.

The base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $60,000 USD per year commensurate with work location, experience, skills, certifications, education, and prior accomplishments. The position may be eligible for additional compensation, including a bonus, commission and/or equity, as applicable.
