Job summary

BeaconMedaes is seeking an experienced medical gas installation engineer to install, test and commission piping systems in hospitals across the UK. You will interpret drawings, document installations and provide technical guidance on-site, while maintaining strong customer relationships.

The role requires HTM 02-01/ISO 7396-1 knowledge, MGPS certification, and a willingness to travel nationally. CSCS and health & safety qualifications are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in medical gas installation or a similar mechanical engineering field.
• Valid MGPS CP or AP certification (HTM 02-01).
• Strong knowledge of HTM 02-01 and ISO 7396-1.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and specifications.
• CSCS card and health & safety certifications advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission medical gas piping in hospitals.
• Test and pre-commission installations per industry standards.
• Interpret mechanical drawings and site specifications.
• Maintain installation records and documentation.
• Provide on-site technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Represent BeaconMedaes and manage customer relationships.
• Travel to sites across the UK as required.

Your role

The role

• Install, test, and commission medical gas pipeline systems in hospitals and healthcare environments, including method statements, and risk assessments.
• Test and pre-commission installations in line with the pertaining industry standard.
• Carry out final connections of piped gas systems.
• Interpret and work from mechanical services drawings.
• Ensure all installations comply with relevant standards, including HTM 02-01 and ISO 7396-1.
• Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and hospital staff to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Maintain accurate documentation and installation records.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and subcontractors when required.
• Represent BeaconMedaes professionally on-site, maintaining strong customer relationships.

To succeed, you will need

• Proven experience in medical gas pipeline installation or a similar mechanical engineering field.
• Valid MGPS Competent Person (CP) or Authorised Person (AP) certification (HTM 02-01).
• Strong understanding of HTM 02-01, ISO 7396-1, and other relevant standards.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel Nationally to various sites.
• CSCS card and relevant health & safety certifications (e.g., SSSTS, PASMA, IPAF) are advantageous.
