Job summary

Allegion's Stanley Access Technologies in Boston, MA is seeking an Install Technician to install or service automatic doors and ensure safety standards. You will document time, perform preventive maintenance, and keep detailed records while following ANSI 156.10 guidelines.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 75–100 lbs. Associates degree and AAADM certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electrical/mechanical/industrial field preferred.
• AAADM certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install or service automatic doors as designated in a profitable and proper manner.
• Record productive time versus travel time.
• Perform preventive maintenance per the designated service program.
• Maintain accurate work records and parts used per procedure.
• Keep up to date with equipment changes and ANSI156.10 standards.
• Maintain manuals and details up to date as advised.
• Keep company vehicles and tools in proper condition.
• Present neat appearance and workmanship per company policy.
• Maintain inventory and perform safety checks before leaving site.
• Ensure good customer relations and assist others with install/service methods.

What You Will Do:

• Perform installation or service work as designated in profitable and proper manner.
• Record productive time versus travel time.
• Perform preventive maintenance work in accordance with service program designated for specific customer.
• Maintain accurately all work records and parts used at each job in accordance with established procedure.
• Keep updated on all changes/modifications to Stanley equipment and Ansi156.10 standard as notified through published communications.
• Keep manuals and all details up to date as changes are advised.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools and other property in proper manner.
• Present neat and clean appearance personally and in workmanship, in accordance with company policies.
• Maintain adequate parts inventory for service vehicle; keep inventory log.
• Test equipment before leaving job site; perform safety check.
• Maintain good customer relations and customer service.
• Assist and instruct others in install/service methods.

What You Need to Succeed:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid state driver’s license without restrictions.
• Ability to lift 75-100lbs.
• Excellent Oral & Written communication skills.
• Sitting while driving for periods of time up to 2 hours but not limited to.
• Standing on concrete for periods of time up to 8 hours but not limited to.
• Stooping, Crouching, Kneeling, Crawling, and twisting spine occasionally.
• Vision not limited to near, far or colors.
• Ability to work in various climates.
• Flexible work schedule is a must with the ability to work nights and/or weekends as necessary.

Additional Preferred Skills & Knowledge:

• Associates Degree in related electrical, mechanical, industrial field
• Prior experience in the construction industry or electrical field
• Prior experience servicing automated doors, glazing, installing glass, installing door frames, building door frames, reading blueprints, AAADM Certification

The expected Base Hourly Range is between $32.70-$40.68 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law. This position is part of a union.
