Creative Studios by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings in Tampa, Florida seeks an Install Stitcher to perform professional alterations and construct theatrical costumes for on-board productions.

The role requires at least 3 years in costume shops with theatre alterations, experience on ships or tours, and strong sewing skills. Able to lift, stand long hours, and work with Wardrobe Supervisors on tight schedules.

Formación

• Minimum 3 years costume shop experience in theatrical costume building and alteration, ship experience fitting and altering costumes or experience working on tour or in summer stock companies.
• Expertise in theatrical alteration, hand and machine sewing, Knowledge of cruise ship entertainment operations.
• Knowledge of theatrical wardrobe practices and principles. Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts, including remote team onboard ships.

Responsabilidades

• Perform professional level alterations and tailoring.
• Alter costumes per Wardrobe Supervisor requests in a timely fashion.
• Operate industrial sewing machines, serger, cover stitch machine, ruffler, patch machine, steamers and irons.
• Knowledge of construction techniques and use of interlinings and interfacings in garment production.
• Construct and alter theatrical costumes using NCLH seam allowances and techniques.
• Take instructions in a professional, positive manner.
• Work in a team environment and maintain a professional work ethic.
• Manage multiple projects and productions simultaneously.
• Assist Shoreside Team and Wardrobe Supervisor during fittings for performers.

This is a position with Creative Studios by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings in Tampa, Florida.

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Professional level alterations skills and tailoring.
• Alter theatrical costumes to the specifics requested by Wardrobe Supervisor in a timely fashion.
• Operate commercial and industrial equipment to include: Single needle industrial sewing machine, industrial serger, double needle cover stitch machine, industrial ruffler, patch machine, industrial steamers and irons.
• Knowledge of construction techniques and use of materials, interlinings, and interfacings in manufacturing of garments.
• Ability to construct and alter theatrical costumes using NCLH seam allowance guidelines and techniques.
• Must be able to take instruction in a professional and positive manner.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and maintain a professional work ethic.
• Must be able to work on several projects and productions at the same time.
• Perform crafts and millinery building and repair if needed.
• May be required to run dressing tracks and work up to 12 hours per day, with one day off per week.
• May be granted shore leave by Wardrobe Supervisor if time permits. Remember this is not a vacation.
• Must be able to climb stairs and lift up to 50 pounds.
• May be required to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to assist Shoreside Team and Wardrobe Supervisor during install on fitting of performers.
• Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
