Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Theatrical Costuming or related field.
• Minimum 3 years costume shop experience in theatrical costume building and alteration, ship experience fitting and altering costumes or on tour/summer stock.

Responsibilities

• Sew theatrical costumes to supplied specifications in a timely fashion.
• Tailor and alter couture garments to management requests.
• Take measurements of performers using the company size chart.
• Operate industrial equipment: sewing machines, serger, and related tools.
• Alter couture garments professionally within required timeframes.
• Apply construction techniques and materials knowledge to garments.
• Construct and alter costumes following seam allowance guidelines.
• Take instruction professionally and work in a team.
• Multitask on several projects and productions simultaneously.
• Perform crafts and millinery building/repair if needed.
• Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
