Job summary

Summers Plumbing Heating & Cooling in Indiana is looking for an Install Helper to support lead installers and help ensure each job is completed safely and correctly. You will learn on the job while playing an important role in every installation.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift and maneuver equipment up to 100 lbs.
• Must be able to crawl, climb, kneel, squat, bend and reach overhead.
• Must be able to climb and work on ladders.
• Must be able to use hand and power tools.
• Must be able to braze and solder equipment as needed.
• Drug testing, background checks and valid driver’s license are conditions of employment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers, office staff and coworkers.
• Participate in all required staff meetings and training sessions.
• Positive attitude required and must be able to promote a professional, and friendly work environment.
• Work hard, smart and efficiently.
• Follow the outline of company policies and procedures.
• Wear floor savers and use drop cloths to protect client floors during installations.
• Re-check each aspect of an installation before leaving the job and explain the system to the client.
• Maintain safety on the job and with the assistant installer.
• Keep trucks neat and clean on the inside and outside.
• Adhere to all company policies and codes when performing installation jobs.

• Re-check each aspect of an installation before leaving the job to prevent unnecessary callbacks after the job is finished. Use the Installation Excellence Form for re-checking.
• Always explain the system to the client when finished with an installation and make sure that they are 100% satisfied with the work.
• Always be safety conscious both on the job and while driving, and make sure that the assistant installer is also working safely and neatly.
• Maintain a production level minimum as determined by management and the annual plan.
• Perform full system change-outs in a timely fashion as determined by the manager.
• Keep trucks neat and clean on the inside and outside at all times.
• Must adhere to all company policies and codes when performing installation jobs.
• Other duties as assigned.
