Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a dedicated secondary education teacher for grades 6-12. The role emphasizes strong Bible knowledge, excellent teaching abilities, and active church involvement.

Ideal candidates are compassionate, communicative, and committed to LifeWise beliefs. Candidates must complete certification requirements and actively participate in LifeWise activities and training.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience (school or church setting).
• Mature Christian faith in agreement with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in a local church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Complete LifeWise Teacher Certification Course within 30 days of the start date and prior to teaching in the LifeWise classroom.
• Participate in the annual LifeWise Summit each year.
• Attend at least one Teachers' Lounge or one LifeWise Meet-Up per year.
• Stay up to date on training and updates by regularly checking LifeWise email.
• Utilize LifeWise curriculum to lesson plan and map curriculum customization.
• Apply LifeWise policies, procedures and resources.
• Implement age-appropriate lesson plans using only LifeWise curriculum.
• Invest in connecting with students through building relationships and praying for them regularly.
• Cultivate an organized and encouraging classroom environment through various teaching strategies and redemptive discipline.
• Prioritize student engagement.
• Keep accurate student attendance records.
• Maintain accurate class rosters including health concerns, special needs and photo permissions.
• Prepare adequate lesson plans, information and materials for a substitute teacher.
• Establish a culture that fosters academic pursuits and a love of learning as a means to spiritual growth.
• Maintain a clean, attractive, age appropriate and well-ordered classroom.
• Know procedures for emergencies.
• Purchase classroom supplies as needed using funds provided by the program director.
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community.
• Attend events as available or requested by the program director.
• Maintain ongoing dialogue with school personnel to stay apprised of class schedule changes and ensure student well-being.
• Build relationships with volunteers and keep them apprised of schedule changes.
• Submit regular updates, stories and photos to the program director.
• Promote and communicate LifeWise's religious mission in all duties and interactions, ensuring alignment with the organization's core values and beliefs.
