Job summary

School of Science and Technology in Corpus Christi, TX seeks a Substitute to step in for the regular classroom teacher during normal school hours. The role reports to the campus principal and works to maintain continuity of instruction.

The substitute will follow lesson plans, manage student behavior, take attendance, and provide daily summaries to the office. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred and prior student interaction is welcomed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (preferred).
• Experience working with students (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Checks the class roll and records attendance as instructed.
• Maintains classroom routine and follows lesson plans.
• Creates a conducive learning environment for students.
• Guides learning toward curriculum goals.
• Encourages appropriate classroom behavior and discipline.
• Notifies staff for assistance if needed.
• Leaves a summary of work covered for each class.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
