Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid Michigan Special Education Teaching Certificate with Cognitive Impairment Endorsement.
• Meet Michigan Department of Education certification and employment requirements.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs aligned with student goals and educational needs.
• Provide differentiated instruction tailored to each student's learning profile and abilities.
• Collect, analyze, and document progress monitoring data to support student growth and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and families to ensure comprehensive student support.
• Maintain compliance with IDEA, Michigan special education regulations, and district requirements.
• Foster a structured, positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and independence.
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings as required.
• Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to support students with moderate cognitive impairments.
