Job summary

Ombudsman Educational Services seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher for grades 6-12 to deliver differentiated instruction within learning centers or classrooms. You will design dynamic lessons aligned to IEPs, integrate instructional software, and collaborate with staff to support at‑risk students.

You will track progress, prepare detailed plans, and maintain compliant records, while fostering an inclusive environment and applying PBIS strategies daily.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education or a closely related field.
• Master’s degree or higher preferred in education or special education.
• Licensed or in the process of obtaining NE state teaching credential and NE special education credential.
• Experience with curriculum development, classroom management and differentiation in alternative/special education settings.
• Experience with IEPs and working with diverse learning needs.
• Ability to manage crises and respond to emergencies with calm and independent decision making.
• Proficiency with instructional technology and basic office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for grades 6-12 with IEPs in learning centers or classroom.
• Deliver targeted instruction using diverse resources and instructional software.
• Create comprehensive lesson plans aligned to standards and IEP goals.
• Implement and reinforce PBIS across the school community.
• Document progress and generate reports on student achievements.
