Job summary

Sacramento City Unified School District is seeking a Special Education teacher for PreK–12 with a Mild/Moderate caseload. The teacher plans, implements, and evaluates instruction and behavior management for LD/ED students under the CBA guidelines.

The role requires collaboration with IEP teams and paraprofessional staff to support learning goals. The position emphasizes using district curriculum, diverse instructional strategies, and effective communication with families and staff to monitor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field such as Education, Special Education, Teaching, Psychology, Humanities or related, including all courses to meet credential requirement.
  • Mild/Moderate or Learning Handicapped Credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
  • English Language Authorization

Responsibilities

  • Engage and support all students in learning by using a variety of instructional strategies to respond to students’ diverse needs.
  • Maintain appropriate standards of student behavior using behavioral management strategies and techniques.
  • Understand and organize subject matter using district curriculum/materials and standards-aligned resources.
  • Plan instruction and design learning experiences for all students.
  • Assess and evaluate student learning to guide instruction and communicate progress with students and families.
