Job summary

Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD) is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students with exceptional needs from PreK through 12th grade. You will collaborate with principals, teachers, and IEP teams to plan, implement, and evaluate instructional services in regular and specialized settings.

Responsibilities include using diverse instructional strategies, managing behavior, aligning with district standards, and communicating progress to families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field and credential requirements met.
• English Language Authorization and an RSP/Mild-Moderate or Moderate/Severe credential issued by the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
• Ability to work with students with exceptional needs across PreK–12 levels.

Responsibilities

• Engage and support all students using diverse instructional strategies.
• Maintain classroom behavior with positive reinforcement and strategies.
• Plan instruction using district curriculum and standards-aligned resources.
• Assess student learning and communicate progress to families and staff.
• Participate in IEP meetings and develop standards-based goals.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and staff.
