Job summary

Spring ISD is seeking a Middle School Theater Teacher to implement the theater arts curriculum and supervise related productions. You will plan and deliver curricula, direct performances, and engage students in and out of class through drama activities.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and a Texas teaching certificate. Collaboration with staff, budgeting, and community events are part of the job, with daily classroom responsibilities and student supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned.
• Preferred: at least one year of student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Organizes the instruction of theater arts and plans curriculum including history, performance, and production.
• Directs plays and one-act productions for school and UIL competitions.
• Supervises rehearsals, performances, and student evaluations.
• Coordinates with the Director of Performing Arts and builds the drama budget.
• Communicates with parents about drama activities and student progress.
