Qualified candidates will hold a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a special education endorsement (Learning Disabilities, SM) for K-12 and have at least three years of SPED teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in relevant education field.
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a special education endorsement in Learning Disabilities (SM) K-12.
• Three (3) years of special education teaching experience.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of relevant law (FAPE, LRE, etc.) and current research.

Responsibilities

• Teaches district-approved curriculum and local/state standards.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs of students.
• Creates a positive, engaging classroom environment and differentiates instruction.
• Maintains communication with parents/guardians regarding progress and wellbeing.
• Participates in professional development and stays current in pedagogy.
• Keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
• Adheres to district and school plans and procedures.
• Contributes to school improvement initiatives.
