Job summary

Qualifications

• Massachusetts licensure as a Teacher of English as a Second Language.
• At least 3 years of teaching in a public school (SEI model preferred).
• Familiarity with language instruction guidelines for LEP and immigrant students (RE-TELL).
• Experience administering ELL assessments (ACCESS, LAS, etc.).
• Commitment to Prospect Hill Academy’s mission and values.
• Experience working with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-quality instruction for English Language Learners.
• Provide coaching, support and resources to classroom teachers in service of English Language Learners.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers with regard to curriculum design and assessment for English Language Learners (SIOPP model).
• Administer assessments in accordance with Massachusetts guidelines and PHA protocol (ACCESS, LAS, W-APT, etc.).
• Maintain detailed, comprehensive records of student progress and performance.
• Utilize a variety of assessment data to inform instruction and program design.
• Participate in professional development aligned to PHA's mission and student needs.
• Maintain ongoing communication with parents and colleagues.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the Director of Multilingual Learning and/or building principal.
• Fulfill non-instructional duties as assigned (morning supervision, advisory, bus duty).
