Job summary

Norwich Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Cross Country Coach at Kelly Middle School and Teacher Memorial Middle School. This part-time role involves supporting the head coach, organizing practices and meets, and ensuring student safety and sportsmanship.

The position requires CT coaching certification and experience preferred for middle school athletes. Work location includes multiple Norwich schools with outdoor activities in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• CT Coaching Certification required.
• Experience coaching middle school athletes preferred.
• Knowledge/Experience in related sport preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support head coach in developing individual and team skills during middle school practices.
• Assist with organizing and supervising practices, meets, and team activities with the head coach.
• Help with equipment setup, distribution, and reporting equipment needs to the head coach or AF.
• Monitor student athlete attendance, behavior, and safety and report concerns to the head coach or AF.
• Follow district policies, including the Athletics Handbook and CIAC guidelines, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
