Job summary

New London Public Schools Athletics Department is seeking a Middle School Boys' Cross Country Head Coach to lead our program, planning practices, organizing competitions, and promoting sportsmanship and teamwork.

The ideal candidate will coach student-athletes, develop leadership, and ensure safety and compliance with district policies and athletic regulations. Position requires after-school/evening/weekend hours and a $1897 stipend as per Schedule D.

Qualifications

• Must hold CSDE Coaching Permit (600) or be eligible to obtain one before employment.
• Current First Aid, CPR/AED, and Concussion certifications.
• Knowledge of cross country rules, techniques, and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead practices, conditioning, and skill development for growth and team readiness.
• Coach and mentor student-athletes, fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and character.
• Prepare and supervise teams for competitions, including strategy development and safety oversight.
