Job summary

Academy of the Pacific Rim Charter Public School (APR) in Boston, MA is seeking a Math Teacher to join our caring, mission-driven team. The role centers on delivering rigorous, standards-aligned mathematics instruction for grades 5-12, using data to drive intervention and growth across diverse learners.

Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred), MA MTEL licensure or equivalent, and an SEI endorsement or plan to obtain it within the first year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• MTEL or equivalent licensure required to teach in Massachusetts (passing score on Communications & Literacy Skills and relevant subject matter knowledge tests).
• SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) endorsement or plan to complete by end of first year.

Responsibilities

• Lead a classroom that affirms students' brilliance, curiosity and intellect.
• Design and implement standards-aligned courses and units that are rigorous and foster critical thinking.
• Provide regular feedback and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with co-teachers and specialists to support individual student needs.
• Deliver high-impact, targeted interventions using data to monitor progress.
• Tutor students regularly and provide office hours to support learning.
