Job summary

MAAC is hiring Lead Teacher roles for the Early Head Start program in California. Positions include Lead Teacher EHS, Lead Teacher I EHS and Lead Teacher II EHS with hourly wages ranging from $24.77 to $37.24, DOQ/E, and a 50-week work year.

Under supervision, you will provide care and education to infants and toddlers, plan developmentally appropriate activities, and partner with families to support children's growth.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of early childhood education, child development, anti-bias education.
• Knowledge of bilingual language acquisition.
• Knowledge of Head Start policies and procedures desirable.
• Bilingual (English / Spanish) speaking, reading, and writing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a primary caregiver to assigned infants/toddlers with feeding, diapering, and holding.
• Assists with assigning children to primary care groups and transitions.
• Partners with parents via daily communication, home visits, and conferences.
• Plans and implements age-appropriate activities for indoor and outdoor times.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of classrooms and play areas.
• Prepares and serves meals and snacks per plans.
• Documents care and development on daily records and attendance logs.
• Lifts and handles children weighing 25–50 lbs.
• Conducts home visits and develops Individual Child Plans and Family Development Plans.

12 ECE units

1 year experience with 0-3

AA in ECE or Child Development (24 units)

BA in ECE/Child Development with 24 units
