Job summary

Nexplore is seeking an After School Instructor for Prospect Hill, CT. This part-time role involves delivering hands-on cooking and STEM activities, following scheduled lessons, and engaging families to support student learning in a national enrichment program.

Qualified applicants have AA or higher, 2+ years of teaching experience with children, strong communication skills, and availability for the posted schedule. Training and on-site collaboration with the Program Success Manager are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children.
• Educational (development or training) experience.
• Teaching degree or certificate is a PLUS.
• Must commit to the full proposed schedule.
• Great communication and presentation skills.

• Willing to complete mandatory training.

Responsibilities

• Consistency - follow a provided schedule, arrive on time and prepared to teach, review lesson plans and materials beforehand.
• Competence - deliver meaningful, standard-aligned instruction that fosters critical thinking and problem solving, manage materials.
• Communication - engage in professional, responsive communication with Program Success Manager and site personnel.
• Creativity - deliver instruction from Nexplore's programs, administer accommodations and extensions as relevant.
• Community - participate in family engagement efforts and empower each child to engage in Nexplore programs.
