Job summary

Boys Town’s Wegner Day School in Omaha, NE seeks a substitute teacher to cover classes when the assigned instructor is unavailable. The school serves K-12 students at risk in a safe, enriched environment with class sizes of 3-8 and a focus on social, emotional and behavioral supports.

You will deliver instruction, modify lessons to IEPs, keep records, supervise students, and collaborate with teachers and aides.

Qualifications

• Nebraska teaching certificate or substitute certificate required.
• CPR and PEM personal restraint certification required if subbing in RTC or select settings.
• Ability to implement and modify general education curriculum and meet student needs.

Responsibilities

• Instructs students and implements lesson plans per established curriculum.
• Maintains accurate records as required by laws, policies, and regulations.
• Adapts instruction to meet IEPs and diverse student needs.
• Works with teacher assistants and staff to implement plans.
• Observes student behavior and progress; maintains appropriate supervision.
• Communicates with parents/guardians regarding progress and concerns.
