Job summary

Boys Town in Duncan, NE is seeking a part-time Substitute Teacher to deliver instruction when the regular teacher is unavailable. The role involves adapting lessons to student needs, maintaining records, and supporting students with special and emotional needs.

You will work with assistants and staff, implement behavior plans, supervise students, and communicate with families. A Nebraska teaching or substitute certificate is required, with preferred Special Education endorsement.

Qualifications

• Current Nebraska Teaching Certificate or Nebraska Substitute Teacher Certificate or a Local Substitute Teacher Certificate required.
• PEM, CPR and nationally recognized personal restraint model training required if subbing in the RTC or select settings.
• Background and experience with learning disabled or behaviorally impaired learners preferred.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction when the assigned instructor is unavailable.
• Modify or adapt lesson plans and instructional materials to meet student needs.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with parents, guardians, administration, and colleagues.
• Supervise students and ensure safety across classrooms and playgrounds.
