Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is required.
• ODEW Teacher certification required; Intervention Specialist K-12 preferred; Non-tax certification will be considered.
• Affinity for working with students with special learning needs is required.
• Must be able to circulate throughout the classroom during instructional periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare thoroughly for each assigned period with structured content and remediation as needed.
• Follow Lawrence School instructional methodology with appropriate training.
• Maintain a highly structured classroom environment supportive of all learners.
• Follow Assertive Discipline and involve Campus Leadership Council when needed.
• Input grades weekly and keep attendance information up to date.
• Develop curriculum maps biweekly and plan instructional strategies.
• Complete reports (IEP progress, grade reports) promptly and accurately.
• Communicate regularly with Campus Leadership Council and with parents to meet contract requirements.
• Prepare for parent conferences and special student meetings in November and March.
• Review Learning Plans to inform teaching practices for individuals.
• Utilize classroom technology tools available to teachers and students.
