Job summary

The Belleville Board of Education is seeking a Classroom Teacher to provide instructional planning, delivery of instruction, behavior management, and comprehensive assessment for students across multiple schools in Belleville, NJ.

Qualifications

• Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status by completing Federal Form 1-9 in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
• Provide evidence that a criminal record history check has been conducted and clearance has been given by the Department of Education.
• Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6:3-4A.4.
• Pass the state required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test as required by N.J.A.C. 6:3-4A.4.
• Meet such alternates to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may deem appropriate.

Responsibilities

• The classroom teacher is responsible for instructional planning; management of behavior; delivery of instruction; and assessment of performance for all assigned students.
• The classroom teacher strives to maintain professional competence and continuous improvement through in-service activities and selected professional growth activities.
• The classroom teacher cooperates with the administration and other staff members to identify and realize the needs of pupils.
• Performs all duties of this position as directed by the superintendent, building principal, and other administrative designee.
• Engages in professional knowledge, planning, delivery, assessment, and learning-environment duties to maximize student achievement.
