Job summary

BASIS Phoenix South is seeking a qualified English Teacher for 5th–8th grade with an immediate start at our Title I campus in Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses on delivering BASIS Curriculum content, tailoring lessons to engage high-need students and supporting overall student success.

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent subject hours) and an IVP fingerprint clearance card; proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in subject matter (or 24+ credit hours in applicable subject matter with other degree).
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and facilitate subject and grade specific lesson plans.
• Provide instruction at a level above grade standard in an interactive setting to achieve strong results.
• Design lessons and assessments to ensure international competitiveness of education.
• Collaborate with BASIS Curriculum teachers to develop curriculum and build a professional learning community.
• Tutor students to heighten academic and career trajectories.
• Manage student behavior to foster achievement and responsibility.
• Support non-instructional functions such as Early Bird and Late Bird.
• Maintain regular, full attendance.
• Supervise individuals or groups of students.
