Job summary

The Taholah School District No. 77 is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Coach for the Middle School Boys Basketball team for the upcoming season. You will work with the head coach to foster a positive, competitive environment and support student-athletes in developing basketball skills and sportsmanship.

This seasonal role requires a strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, reliable communication, and a commitment to safety and district policies. Evening and weekend availability is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; coaching or playing experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; motivate young athletes.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach in planning and conducting practices and game strategies.
• Support the development of players' skills (shooting, passing, dribbling, and defensive techniques).
• Provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes; promote teamwork, discipline and respect.
• Help organize and manage team logistics (transportation, equipment, and schedules).
• Communicate with players, parents, and administration regarding team activities, expectations, and performance.
