Job summary

Tahanto Regional Middle/High School in Boylston, MA seeks a part-time Middle School Boys Basketball Coach for the 2026-2027 season. The coach will report to the Athletic Director and oversee winter basketball activities, practices, and games for the middle school team.

Responsibilities include teaching fundamentals, maintaining safety, and promoting teamwork and academic success among student-athletes. CPR/First Aid, ethics training, and background checks are required per district policy.

Qualifications

Must meet district/state coaching certification requirements, including CPR/First Aid and ethics training.
Background check and concussion training are required.
At least 1 year of relevant coaching or playing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and conduct regular practices and games.
Teach fundamental basketball skills, strategies, and rules for middle school athletes.
Model teamwork, respect, discipline, and good sportsmanship.
Supervise athletes at practices, games, and travel events.
Communicate with players, parents, athletic director, and school staff via approved apps and email.
Ensure players meet eligibility and academic requirements.
Maintain inventory of equipment and uniforms; report needs or damages.
Promote a positive team culture that supports academics and personal growth.
Follow district, school, and league policies on safety and conduct.
Support the overall athletic program and participate in end-of-season activities.
