Job summary

Buckhorn School is looking for a dedicated Middle School Softball Coach to develop and implement a comprehensive program for grades 6–8. This seasonal role emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship, collaborating with administration, parents, and the community to foster a positive playing environment.

The ideal candidate will have coaching experience at the middle/high school level, strong softball knowledge, and excellent communication to motivate student-athletes.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience at the middle school or high school level is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of softball techniques, strategies, and rules of the game.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.
• First Aid and CPR certification is preferred or must be obtained within the first month of employment.
• Must pass a background check and meet district requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct daily practice sessions focused on skill development and game strategy.
• Develop game plans and strategies for competitions and ensure athletes are prepared.
• Foster a positive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship and inclusivity.
• Monitor and evaluate student-athlete performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Communicate with parents and guardians regarding updates and progress.
• Organize and supervise team events, games, and fundraisers.
• Ensure safety of players during practices and competitions.
• Collaborate with school administration to follow district athletics policies.
