Job summary

Bartell Hotels, San Diego, is seeking a Housekeeping Inspector to assist in achieving the highest cleanliness standards across our properties. You will help direct the housekeeping operation and supervise staff to ensure efficient service and a welcoming guest environment.

The role emphasizes safety, inventory control, and adherence to Bartell Hotels’ standards. Previous supervisory experience within hotel housekeeping is preferred, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping supervision or hotel operations advantageous.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to overall cleanliness of the hotel by assisting in maintaining an organized and efficient Housekeeping operation.
• Supervises the day-to-day activities of housekeeping staff.
• Maintains familiarity with cleaning equipment; fills requisition orders as necessary.
• Stays abreast of current and new industry technology.
• Conducts inspections for efficiency and cleanliness of public space and follows up as needed.
• Assists with rotation schedules and special cleaning projects.
• Provides staff with skills training to provide value-added service to customers.
• Monitors service and teamwork and counsels employees as needed.
• Ensures customer rooms meet Bartell Hotels standards.
• Checks 'In' house or 'Stayover Rooms' as necessary.
• Writes maintenance orders as needed.
• Checks linen closets and carts for cleanliness and supplies.
• Ensures safety rules are followed and takes corrective action as required.
• Maintains linen pars, chemicals, and inventory; assists with purchases within budget.
• Keeps supervisor informed of issues.

Primary Objective of HousekeepingInspector Position

To assist in attaining the highest quality of cleanliness for the hotel by assisting in the direction and coordination of the Housekeeping operation

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the overall cleanliness of the hotel by assistingin maintaining an organized and efficient Housekeeping operation


• Supervises the day to day activities of housekeeping staff


• Maintains familiarity with cleaning equipment; fills outrequisition orders as necessary


• Stays abreast of current and new industry technology


• Conducts inspections for efficiency and cleanliness of publicspace and does follow-up as needed


• Assists with rotation schedules and special cleaning projects

• Monitors service and teamwork on regular basis and counselsemployees as needed


• Insures that customer rooms are within our standards


• Checks \"In\" house or \"Stayover Rooms\" asnecessary


• Writes a maintenance order as needed


• Checks linen closets and carts for cleanliness and supplies


• Insures that all employees follow safety rules and procedures


• Takes corrective action where required to improve safety of workareas


• Maintains proper linen pars, chemicals, and amenity inventories, conductinginventories as assigned and recommending purchases of products; remainingwithin budget


• Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of allproblems or unusual matters of significance

Whileperforming the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand;walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk orhear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to climb orbalance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as well as frequently liftingand/or moving up to 50 pounds.Theemployee must also be able to go up and down a flight of stairs while carrying25 pounds.The employee is sometimesexposed to outside weather conditions and the noise level in the workenvironment is usually moderate.
