Job summary

Bartell Hotels is seeking a Laundry Attendant for the Hilton SD Airport/Harbor Island location in San Diego, CA. You will help maintain hotel linen by cleaning and processing according to Bartell Hotels' standards to support guest satisfaction.

Key tasks include sorting laundry by fabric/type, loading washers/dryers, saving energy through proper drying times, delivering linen to closets, and reporting any equipment issues to management.

Responsibilities

• Sorts laundry by fabric type, color, item or soil concentration to maximize cleaning effectiveness
• Pulls damaged or stained linen prior to loading washers
• Weighs bed linens to ensure proper loading capacity
• Operates washers and dryers per recommended weights
• Monitors and adjusts dryers to proper heating and cooling times to save energy
• Ensures only clean linens are placed in the dryer for drying
• Operates, maintains, and cleans laundry equipment according to company standards
• Informs supervisor of mechanical failures or supply shortages for corrective action
• Presses and folds linen, uniforms, and other articles as needed
• Assists in delivering linen to closets and storage areas
• Follows safety rules to minimize hazards and informs supervisor of significant issues
• Other duties may be assigned as needed

Primary Objective of LaundryAttendant Position

To maintain the condition of all hotel linenin accordance with the standards of Bartell Hotels through efficient cleaningand processing

• Insuresmaximum cleaning effectiveness by sorting laundry prior to washing according tofabric type, color, item or soil concentration

• Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of allproblems or unusual matters of significance

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Whileperforming the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand;walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk orhear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to climb orbalance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as well as frequently liftingand/or moving up to 50 pounds.Theemployee must also be able to go up and down a flight of stairs while carrying50 pounds.The employee is sometimesexposed to outside weather conditions and the noise level in the workenvironment is usually moderate.
