Job summary

Regal Rexnord is seeking an onsite Quality Inspector to cover multiple inspection areas across the facility, interfacing with shop floor, engineering, and production targets. You will create NCRs, support SQDC metrics, and ensure compliance with quality standards.

The role requires AS9102 familiarity, calibration expertise, and strong communication to sustain workflow and meet deadlines. Lifting up to 50 pounds and a standard 9–5/10–6 schedule apply.

Qualifications

  • US Person with US permanent residence.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2–3 years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2–3 years Aerospace DSQR experience preferred.
  • ASQ Certified CQT / CMI a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection and quality planning tools.
  • Understanding of ISO/AS quality standards and FAA FAR regulations.
  • Proficiency in calibration and metrology systems and gauging methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection operations across Final, Heat Treat, Plating, Receiving QC, Pre/Post OSP, In-Process, and First Article inspections.
  • Create NCRs and remove discrepant material.
  • Maintain SQDC metrics and ensure procedural compliance.
  • Keep inspection data organized and paperwork filed at shift end.
  • Coordinate with Quality team to ensure efficient workflow and absentee coverage.
  • Escalate quality issues immediately.
  • Set up gauges and verify gauges per specifications.
  • Assist quality engineering with gauing design and improvements.
  • Troubleshoot gauge issues in manufacturing.

Job description

Work Model: This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.
Working hours: 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm

This position covers several areas of Inspection responsibility throughout the facility. It is a critical link between the shop floor associates, the engineering specifications and requirements, and the production targets. The person in this role will ensure that performance standards are met, and take appropriate action when necessary to meet agreed deadlines, quality performance, and production targets. The role also includes cross training throughout the department and assisting when there is a bottleneck in an inspection area, providing vacation fill‑ins, or managing absences. You will be responsible for supporting team cohesion within the department and the facility, and for leading by example.

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure strict adherence to and implementation of Company Safety and Work rules.
  • Perform inspection operations in each of the following areas:
    • Final Inspection
    • Heat Treat Inspection
    • Plating Inspection
    • Receiving QC Inspection
    • Pre/Post OSP Inspection
    • In‑Process Inspection
    • First Article Inspection
  • Responsible for creation of nonconformance documentation (NCRs) when discrepancies are detected at any inspection stage. Removal of the discrepant material from the production areas.
  • Maintain and support SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost) metrics in all areas assigned.
  • Ensure that all quality requirements are being followed including procedural compliance and defect reporting. Act as a liaison between production associates and quality requirements.
  • Maintain all inspection data during daily inspections and ensure all paperwork is in its proper place at the end of the shift.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other members of the Quality team to ensure that all areas flow efficiently. Aid in absenteeism coverage to ensure all production requirements are met.
  • Escalate production and assembly quality issues or work stoppages caused by a quality issue immediately.
  • Set up and adjust gauges using required equipment or masters per specification requirements. This includes periodic verifications of gauge set‑up.
  • Work with quality engineering in the design of new or modified gauging when required.
  • Help the manufacturing area in troubleshooting and resolving gauge issues.
Qualifications
  • This position requires the applicant to be a US Person with a US permanent residence. A US Person is a US Citizen or Green card holder.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2‑3 years of Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment demonstrating increasing accountability.
  • 2‑3 years previous Aerospace DSQR experience preferred.
  • Qualified experience, ASQ Certified CQT CMI a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of the AS9102 (FAI’s) First Article Inspection process, and Quality Planning tools (including SPC, GR&R, Cpk, GD&T, DMAIC, First Piece Inspection, Cost of Quality).
  • Understanding of all aviation industry compliance standards required, including ISO and AS 9000 quality systems, ISO 10012, AS9100, ISO9001, FAA FAR regulations.
  • Strong application knowledge of calibration and metrology systems including the development, improving, and approving gauging methodologies and design. Qualifications should include general or application knowledge of quality assurance systems, Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, blueprint interpretation, and process capability analysis.
  • Effective communication skills – strong written and verbal communication skills, including developing, implementing, and maintaining procedures, work instructions, and related forms that support the Quality system.
  • Basic math aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of engineering part drawings and general understanding of metallurgy; ability to understand the physical and mechanical properties of metals as affected by composition, mechanical working and heat treatments including metal cutting and grinding is desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.
  • Training and experience in Microsoft Office 2000 or greater.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively throughout the shift.
