Job summary

Regal Rexnord is seeking an on-site Quality Inspector to perform diverse inspection tasks across final, in-process and post-process stages. You will create NCRs for discrepancies and maintain accurate inspection records while supporting SQDC metrics.

Collaboration with the Quality team and gauge troubleshooting are key parts of the role. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in aerospace inspection, AS9102/DSQR experience, and ASQ CQT/CMI is a plus.

Qualifications

  • This position requires the applicant to be a US Person with a US permanent residence.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2-3 years Aerospace DSQR experience preferred.
  • ASQ Certified CQT/CMI a plus.
  • Knowledge of AS9102 FAI and Quality Planning tools (SPC, GR&R, Cpk, GD&T, DMAIC, First Piece Inspection, Cost of Quality).
  • Understanding aviation quality standards (ISO/AS 9000, ISO 10012, AS9100, ISO9001, FAA FAR).
  • Metrology & gauging knowledge; geometry & tolerancing basics.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Basic math aptitude
  • Metallurgy understanding; material properties
  • Time and project management proficiency
  • MS Office proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to Company Safety and Work rules.
  • Perform inspection operations across Final, Heat Treat, Plating, Receiving QC, Pre/Post OSP, In-Process, First Article.
  • Create NCRs when discrepancies are detected and remove discrepant material.
  • Maintain SQDC metrics and ensure defect reporting compliance.
  • Ensure paperwork is organized and inspection data retained.
  • Coordinate with Quality team to ensure smooth flow and cover absences.
  • Escalate quality issues or stoppages immediately.
  • Set up and adjust gauges per specification; verify gauges periodically.
  • Assist quality engineering in gauge design or modifications.
  • Aid manufacturing in troubleshooting gauge issues.

Job description

Work Model: This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure strict adherence to and implementation of Company Safety and Work rules.
  • Performs inspection operations in each of the following areas: Final Inspection, Heat Treat Inspection, Plating Inspection, Receiving QC Inspection, Pre/Post OSP Inspection, In-Process Inspection, First Article Inspection.
  • Responsible for creation of nonconformance documentation (NCRs) when discrepancies are detected at any inspection stage. Removal of the discrepant material from the production areas.
  • Maintain and support SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost) metrics in all areas assigned.
  • Ensure that all quality requirements are being followed including procedural compliance and defect reporting. Act as a liaison between production associates and quality requirements.
  • Maintaining all inspection data during daily inspections and responsible for ensuring all paperwork is in its proper place at the end of the shift.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other members of the Quality team to ensure that all areas flow efficiently. Aid in absenteeism coverage to ensure all production requirements are met.
  • Escalate production and assembly quality issues or work stoppages caused by a quality issue immediately.
  • Set up and adjust gauges using required equipment or masters per specification requirements. This includes periodic verifications of gage set-up.
  • Work with quality engineering in the design of new or modified gauging when required.
  • Ability to help the manufacturing area in troubleshooting and resolving gage issues.
Qualifications
  • This position requires the applicant to be a US Person with a US permanent residence. A US Person is a US Citizen or Green card holder.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment demonstrating increasing accountability.
  • 2-3 years previous Aerospace DSQR experience preferred.
  • Qualified experience, ASQ Certified CQT CMI a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of the AS9102 (FAI’s) First Article Inspection process, and Quality Planning tools (including SPC, GR&R, Cpk, GD&T, DMAIC, First Piece Inspection, Cost of Quality).
  • Understanding and basic knowledge of all aviation industry compliance standards required, including ISO and AS 9000 quality systems, ISO 10012, AS9100, ISO9001, FAA FAR regulations.
  • Strong application knowledge of calibration and metrology systems including the development, improving, and approving gauging methodologies and design. Qualifications should include general or application knowledge of quality assurance systems, Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, blue print interpretation, and process capability analysis.
  • Effective communication skills – strong written and verbal communication skills. Including developing, implementing, and maintaining procedures, work instructions, and related forms that support the Quality system.
  • Basic math aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of engineering part drawings and general understanding of metallurgy; ability to understand the physical and mechanical properties of metals as affected by composition, mechanical working and heat treatments including metal cutting and grinding is desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.
  • Training and experience in Microsoft Office 2000 or greater.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively throughout the shift.
