Construction Inspectors - Transportation Group (Pennsylvania)

STV currently has openings for Construction Inspectors in the Transportation group in Pennsylvania.

Position Overview

Our Transportation group, based in Douglassville, Harrisburg, and Philadelphia, PA offices, seeks construction inspectors with experience on PennDOT and PA Turnpike highway and bridge construction projects. Field locations include the Lehigh Valley and Northeastern regions of Pennsylvania, particularly in Carbon, Monroe, Northampton, and Schuylkill Counties, with future projects in the Philadelphia region.

Clientele

Clients include Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Districts 4, 5, and 6, and the PA Turnpike Commission (PTC).

Qualifications
  • 1 to 4 years of experience in highway and/or bridge construction inspection.
  • Certifications such as NICET Level II in Highway Construction, NECEPT Asphalt Field Technician, ACI Concrete Technician, PennDOT/NECEPT Concrete Technician, and others related to Stormwater Management, Guiderail/Attenuator installation, Traffic Control, and OSHA/Safety are preferred.
  • High School Diploma (or GED) required, with pertinent certifications and knowledge of PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike electronic documentation systems.
  • A degree (AS or BS) in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is a plus.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Experience with highway/bridge construction inspection, with a preference for NICET Level II Certification or active Professional Engineering license.
  • Certifications in ACI/PennDOT Concrete, NECEPT Asphalt, Traffic Control, Guide Rail, Stormwater Management, OSHA, or related fields.
  • Ability to review contractor procedures, prepare inspection reports, and document materials testing.
  • Knowledge of PennDOT highway and bridge standards, materials, and work methods.
  • Mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, email).
  • Experience with PennDOT's ECMS system, PennDOT i-Pad applications, and project management software like PPCC or Kahua is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills for documentation, coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety guidelines and operate personal vehicles within construction zones.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as required.
  • Willingness to attend training and maintain certifications.
Compensation

Range: $47,102.00 - $62,803.00
