Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking an inspector to perform visual and dimensional inspections across the Service Shop and to conduct functional tests on aircraft components as needed. You will verify test setups and execute all required part and process verifications, using appropriate inspection techniques and equipment while maintaining comprehensive records.

Direct supervision of others may be required, and knowledge of shop math, precision instruments, and basic machining concepts will support

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting aircraft hardware.
• Demonstrate use of basic precision measuring instruments including micrometers, dial calipers, and dial indicators.
• Ability to use shop math, including fractions, decimals and ability to learn trigonometry and geometry.
• Experience working with computers, applications, and keyboarding.
• Possess analytical aptitude with methodical attention to detail.

Required Qualifications

• Experience inspecting aircraft hardware.
• Demonstrate use of basic precision measuring instruments including micrometers, dial calipers, and dial indicators.
• Ability to use shop math, including fractions, decimals and ability to learn trigonometry and geometry.
• Experience working with computers, applications, and keyboarding.
• Possess analytical aptitude with methodical attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrate use of special gauges, air gauges, optical comparator, and length gauges.
• Experience with open setup and CMM inspection.
• Experience in disposition and quoting parts.
• Ability to operate various hand and power tools, and basic machining and equipment.
• 3+ years of experience in inspection of aircraft hardware and 8130 systems.
• Some knowledge of machine shop blueprints and engineering sketches.
• Experience operating material handling and lifting devices, including ability to obtain forklift license as required.
