JOB TITLE/LOCATION:

Inspector - Santa Ana, CA.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Inspect products using gauges and basic hand tools (calipers, micrometers, height gage, comparator and other metrology instruments).
  • Test incoming raw materials.
  • Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.
  • Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
  • Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
  • Measure product dimensions, examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications.
  • Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.
  • Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
  • Identify quality issues.
  • Perform first article inspections, in process, receiving, and final inspection.
  • Reject and write nonconforming part for MRB.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, inputting data into Quality database.
  • Keep measuring equipment operating by following instructions.
  • Return inspection equipment back to Calibration.
Education:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.

Experience:

0-3 years performing inspection on metal parts.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
  • Good math and technical skills.
  • Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Practical experience in precision inspection equipment and calibration.
  • Proficient in the use of micrometers, height gage, comparator, and other metrology instruments.
  • Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
  • Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities.
  • Knowledge in aerospace materials.
Physical & Environmental Factors:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee, generally works indoors within the office and manufacturing areas.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate or loud.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit and talk or to hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a US citizen, lawful permanent resident ["green card" holders] or have refugee or asylee status.

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. The pay range represents the low and high end of the salary range we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, education, skills, qualifications, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Pay Range:

$23 to $25/hour.
