Job summary

GE Aerospace Indianapolis seeks a skilled inspection professional to support aerospace component manufacturing on site. You will use hand tools and CMMs to verify specifications, document calibration results, and perform inspections per written instructions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or HSE is required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with hand measurement gauges (mics, verniers, bore gauges, calipers, height gauges, indicators).
  • Ability to read procedures and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to perform precise and detailed work and work well in a team.
  • Role may involve high risk or hazardous operations; must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Use CMM and hand tools to ensure specifications are met.
  • Document calibration inspection results.
  • Perform inspections and calibrations per written instructions.
  • Select inspection methods and techniques.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and systems problems.
  • Perform functional, mechanical and visual inspections.
  • Verify calibration status of measuring/test equipment.
  • Establish preventive maintenance for inspection equipment.
  • Review work with respect to codes, standards and specs.

Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma OR HSE.
  • Previous experience utilizing hand measurement gages such as mics, verniers, bore gages, calipers, height gages, and indicators.
  • One year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with simple machine and tool operations.
  • Understand how to identify and effectively use a variety of power and hand tools.

Job Responsibilities
  • CMM experience.
  • Use hand tools and measuring equipment to ensure specifications are met.
  • Document applicable calibration inspection results.
  • Perform specific inspections and calibrations according to written instructions.
  • Designate appropriate inspection methods and techniques.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and systems problems.
  • Perform functional, mechanical and visual inspection.
  • Verify the calibration status of all measuring and test equipment used in the work area including reference material.
  • Understand the relevance and importance of inspection activities and how they contribute to the delivery of defect free products.
  • Set up and calibrate equipment, interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards and specifications.
  • Interpret and evaluate inspection results with respect to applicable codes, specifications and standards.
  • Establish and perform preventative maintenance procedures for inspection equipment.
  • Perform periodic work reviews and audits to ensure compliance to the system requirements.
  • Interpret blueprint drawings and ensure specifications are being met.
  • Develop consistent/logical feature labels and structured reports for data retrieval and ease of interpretation of inspection results.

This role requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information.
