Job summary

GE Aerospace Indianapolis site seeks skilled manufacturing workers to deburr, planish, grind, polish and assemble parts for aerospace engines. You will read complex drawings, use precision gauges, and follow strict procedures to ensure high-quality hardware.

Responsibilities include adjusting equipment, performing first-piece inspections, maintaining records, and supporting LEAN initiatives. Candidates should have basic fabrication experience and be able to work varying shifts as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ year fabrication or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read procedures, build plans and blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and adjust tools for deburring, planishing, grinding and polishing.
  • Inspect parts with precision instruments and document results.
  • Follow OAPs and LEAN practices to ensure quality.
  • Maintain accurate records and support team goals including overtime as needed.

Job Summary

The new Indianapolis site manufactures complex aerospace components engineered for commercial and military aircraft engines. Join us on our growth and transformation journey in Indianapolis.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize various tools to de‑burr, planish, grind and polish the product
  • Work from complex product drawings, manuals, and specifications
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments to inspect parts
  • Adhere to Operator Acceptance Procedures (OAP)
  • Inspect finished product and identify defects
  • Assemble details on parts utilizing various tools
  • Set up, operate, adjust and troubleshoot all tools and equipment used in the assembly process
  • Utilize inspection gauging on parts and run first‑piece inspections
  • Maintain accurate work records
  • Recognize process variation and adjust while maintaining compliant work practices to produce conforming hardware
  • Be flexible to support team goals (duties, hours, and overtime)
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with others
  • Follow and promote safe work practices
  • Support LEAN initiatives
  • Lift light to medium weight material; crouch, stoop or adopt flexible positions as needed
  • Learn and perform other duties as required
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6months–1year experience with fabrication techniques and machinery
  • 1+year experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with simple machine and tool operations
  • Ability to identify and effectively use a variety of power and hand tools
  • Read, understand and utilize procedures, detailed computerized build plans, and basic mathematical calculations
  • Perform precise and detailed work
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Follow and promote safe work practices
  • Flex on duties, hours, and overtime to support team goals
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Demonstrated teamwork ability

  • Previous assembly and machine operator experience

  • At least 18years of age by the time of joining
  • Position may involve high‑risk or hazardous operations and/or shifts beyond a standard workweek
