Job Description Summary

Position: Manufacturing Inspection Technician – GE Aerospace

Responsibilities

• Utilize manual or automated measurement and testing equipment to assure product quality.
• Identify and document non‑conforming parts, maintaining inspection records in Oracle.
• Inspect all raw materials and purchased parts to determine conformance to design requirements.
• Apply statistical process control and statistical quality control techniques as required.
• Perform duties according to internal process specifications and third‑party requirements.
• Assist support functions in root cause analysis.
• Complete written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation.
• Communicate with shift operators regarding special problems, product deficiencies, new processes, or issues.
• Report problems to appropriate resources and/or coach.
• Actively work to improve efficiency and quality of products.
• Participate in and support team initiatives.
• Use proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures.
• Adhere to GE Leadership behaviors.
• Perform other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Education or GED equivalency.
• 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools (e.g., dremel, cut‑off tooling) and measuring devices (dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability and willingness to perform electrical test methods (ohm meter, gauss meter, surge test, hi‑pot).
• Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation, including GD&T.
• Ability and willingness to pass a visual acuity exam upon offer.
• Ability and willingness to obtain Braze, Weld and Solder inspection certification as required.

Desired Qualifications

• 1–3 years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge of Quality System requirements (AS9100).
• Basic understanding of special process operations such as brazing, soldering, welding, coating.
• Basic knowledge of electrical components and test methods.
• Knowledge in Receiving, Electrical, or Mechanical Inspection.
• Assembly, solder, or electronics manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience in a self‑directed team environment.
• Familiarity with 5S and lean manufacturing practices.

Physical Demands

Requires continuous use of hands and fingers in repetition; occasional bending, stooping, twisting, crouching, squatting, climbing, or balancing; continuous sitting; occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.; push/pull up to 22 lbs.; may encounter high‑risk or hazardous operations, chemicals, and work shifts beyond a standard workweek.

Compensation

Hourly rate $23 plus a 10% shift differential. Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of base salary.
